clear that priority status for the up and coming Blue Square Premier League
Playoff matches with Torquay United will be granted to all Trust members who
have joined the Supporters' Trust before Sunday 27th April 2008.
This is owing to the logistical difficulties of reconciling priority status.
The Supporters' Trust would however, re-iterate that members who join the
Supporters' Trust from Sunday 27th of April onwards, will be considered for
priority tickets for future matches. If you have any further queries relating
to this, please feel free to get in touch with the Trust via email (trust@ecfc.co.uk).

ECFC Supporters' Trust 'Member of the Year 2007-2008'
At the end of the 2006-2007 season the Exeter City Supporters' Trust launched
a pilot scheme for its own Supporters' Trust 'Member of the Year' award. This
award was originally established by the Trust in memory of Nina Wills, a committed
and passionate Trust member whose energy and passion touched many around her.
It was the hope of the Trust that establishing this award would serve as
a fitting tribute to the efforts that Nina brought to both the Club and Trust
during her life.
Last year the Supporters' Trust inaugural 'Member of the Year' award was
awarded to Ian Jubb "Jubby" following his nomination by a number
of Trust members. With all the work that Ian engaged in at both the Club and
Trust, the Board of Society felt it fitting to agree to pass this prestigious
award to such a committed and loyal Trust member.
The Supporters' Trust would like to invite our membership to nominate Trust
members that they believe have helped make a difference at either ECFC or
the Trust, whether through their voluntary efforts for the club or Trust.
At the closure of nominations on 24th April the Board of Society will cast
a vote as to the final choice for 'Member of the Year'.
Subsequent to this final vote of the Board of Society, the winner of this
award will be contacted and invited to receive their award at the up and coming
ECFC Spring Ball, to be held at St. James Park on Friday 23rd May at 19:00.
If you would like to nominate a Trust member for the award of Supporters'
Trust 'Member of the Year'’ please send your nominations to: Trust Member
of the Year, PO Box 231, Exeter, Devon or email trust@ecfc.co.uk.

The Grecians Trust Scheme Reaches Ghana and Vectis Auction Rooms
- Also ‘Bad Manners’ Comes to the Scheme
We have some interesting news on the scheme and wanted to let you know about
it.
A short while back Jake Dillon donated a few more things to the scheme, one
item which caught my eye immediately was a signed LP by the group ‘Bad
Manners’ which I put on Ebay as ‘BAD MANNERS SKA 'N' B - LP with
authentic autographs’, it sold for £34.16 and the buyer was really
pleased and sent me this message:
“DAVE HERE,IVE JUST GOT THE L.P. IM WELL CHUFFED,THE REASON I BOUGHT
IT IS I WON ONE IN THE SAME COMP YEARS AGO ,BUT MINES ARIGHT STATE,SO YOU
MADE MY DAY,MANY THANKS FROM DAVE”.
Jake who donated the LP said the following:
"Rummaging round the house for bits 'n' bobs to donate to the Trust scheme,
I came across an early 80's, signed, Bad Manners LP that I had won in a competition.
I had thought that this might fetch between £5 & £10 on E-Bay,
it was, after all, one of many, surely? So it was with surprise and delight
when I heard it went for more than £34! As Barry Sansom has always said,
'every little bit helps'. Now, where did I put that Bay City Rollers scarf
? "
So thanks Jake for making someone’s day as well as helping out the scheme.
David Hamilton and Adrian Gibb donations to the scheme are interesting as
well. Adrian travelled all the way to Essex to clear his late Father-in-Laws
estate and thought the Grecians Trust Scheme might benefit from it. Well Adrian
very kindly did a return journey bringing back a lot of useful items.
All the items have now been sold on with the whole profit of more than £100
going to the Trust. Great effort Adrian, so many thanks again for being so
generous.
But the story didn’t end there, because whilst I was trying to find
a buyer for a fridge freezer that Adrian had donated, I had a call from a
native of Ghana, he quickly purchased the item and told me it was going to
Ghana, “Ghana?” I said inquisitively. The gentleman went on to
explain about the local area he came from and the problem they had getting
ice and storing food, and that freezers were what he was after. It transpired
that all he wanted was the freezer part of the item, but because it had a
large freezer compartment, it was suitable. So that item I would think should
now be in place. He told me he does this regularly and when he has a container
full, off they go to Ghana.
Now the David Hamilton story will be ongoing for quite some time. David donated
a large collection of Football programmes from the 60’s and 70’s
for various football clubs English and Scottish. Also many collectable sporting
cards, coins etc dating back to the early part of 20th century.
I have already sold some and to date the scheme has benefited to the tune
of £52.51 for items sold on Ebay. Added to this are a couple of Dinky
Toys dating back to the 1940’s. These I have sent to a Specialist Toy
Sale up country called VECTIS in Thornaby Stockton On Tees. I am hopeful these
will do well.
David had the option to donate a minimum of 20% to the scheme for selling
the items, but he waived this option and donated 100%. There are still a lot
of David’s items we have to sell, so will give a final figure when done
as well as the results of the Vectis auction.
More thanks to other donators including Alistair Young, Norman Shiel once
again, and as I type this to a further 2 new Grecians Trust members Helen
Bigwood and Hubert Fernbank, whom I will be visiting today to take charge
of their donations to the scheme.
To date we have made a profit of £308.22 with sales
already for April at £61.50 with items currently being sold at Queens
Road Auctions, Ebid, Ebay, Vectis and a Boot Sale scheduled for end of April.
Over the weekend we have someone looking to buy some from us in bulk, but
I did warn them we drive a hard bargain. And need every penny we can get.
We could really do with your help and donations, whilst making some cash
for you if you want. So if you have something old or new you don’t want
anymore, we would love to hear from you. Call Barry on 01392 214071.
You might be surprised to find what sells and what doesn’t, those old
toys you have lying around some place, that old vase with a crack in it, old
toys, or even old photos, posters, postcards, cutlery, pictures, drawings,
furniture and so on the list is endless. Don’t throw it away until Barry
has had the chance to say whether you are doing the right thing or not.
Please help this scheme become very profitable by donating as much as you
can. We do already have a lot of books and programmes, so would not hope to
have many more at this stage, but they would not be refused. Contact Barry
Sansom where possible on 01392 214071 if you have something to donate, for
he would be happy to arrange collection.
I am now running a local ‘Clearance Scheme’ linked under the
Grecian Trust Scheme. So if you have things that need to go to the tip that
will fit in my Picasso Such as Fridge Freezers, chests of drawers, wardrobe
etc give me a call. Rates per full load would be £15, £10 for
part loads. All profit to the Trust.
Also linked to the Scheme is a scrap metal collection. If you have metal
you want to get shot of, give me a shout. Old wiring, copper boilers, lead,
Iron, Steel and so on, all collected free of charge. Once we have enough,
the scrap will be taken to a dealer in exchange for cash. All profit will
go to the Trust. Virtually anything these days can be recycled. So “COME
ON!!!! LET’S BE HAVING YOU!!” (From the words shouted by a well
known Football Chairperson)
Thank you on behalf of the Trust
Barry Sansom

Trust Sponsorship of City FC Ball Boys/Girls
Exeter City Supporters Trust is now the proud sponsors of new match day clothing
for the ball boys and girls of Exeter City Football Club. The Trust has provided
new fleece lined coats, polo shirts, tracksuit bottoms and of course gloves
with the Trust Logo embroidered on. All of this kit has been supplied through
the club shop and The Trust would like to thank Bob Jobes of SHO our kit supplier
and club shop manager Kelly Ingleson for their assistance.
The ball boys and girls, pictured here with their hardworking co-ordinator
Sally Tyrer, Trustees Andy Cole, Adrian Gibb and Grecian the Lion were presented
to the crowd at the Kidderminster game back in March.
The ball boys and girls look very smart in their new kit and we are sure
that this will help keep them warm and dry. These youngsters stand around
the ground exposed to all weathers night and day and their support is very
much appreciated both by the club and the trust.

Red or Dead - Press Release
Following Exeter City Football Club's relegation to the Conference in 2003,
the club found itself over a million pounds in debt with only its supporters
to turn to. The Supporters’ Trust took over the day to day running of
the Football Club at this time, and thanks to the hard work of many individuals,
our club survived its darkest hour.
The Red or Dead? campaign was established by the Supporters’ Trust
as a means of energising the fan base of Exeter City to help raise funds to
save the Football Club from extinction. However following the club's illustrious
FA Cup ties with Manchester United, the emphasis of Red or Dead? changed with
the ethos of the campaign centring around supporting the business growth of
the Football Club.
To date the Red or Dead? campaign has raised over £137,000
for the Football Club with over £55,000 already spent
on projects at Exeter City including; £5,149 for a
new stairwell in the Stagecoach Family Stand, £7,500
for a new Tractor for ground staff, £1,483 for new
turnstiles, £1,336 for a new carpet in the St James
Centre, £1,100 for a new grass mower for ground staff,
£180 for a grass shredder & vacuum for ground staff,
over £31,000 for enhancing the playing budget for 2006/2007
season, £1,478 for the set up of the ECFC reserve team,
£1,064 for a flat screen tv for the St James Centre,
£420 for an electricity supply to the Store Rooms outside
of the St James Centre & £3,090 for a borehole
at the Cat and Fiddle Training Ground. Recently the Supporters Trust Board
of Society has also agreed for £7,548 to be released
for the funding of an irrigation system to help improve the playing surface
at St James Park. Funds have also been approved if required, for the development
of a learning centre under the Flybe stand of up to £28,000.
Following a review of the Red or Dead? campaign in the last 18 months, all
pledgers to the campaign were contacted and asked to give a preference to
where they would like their pledge monies spent at St James Park. Following
this exercise, the Supporters’ Trust has been able to allocate the following
monies to projects at ECFC:
Playing budget 2005/6 & 2006/7 £31,313.86
Centre of Excellence £4,747.75
Equipment ~ pitch/ground maintenance £3,299.10
Turnstiles & related equipment for Old Grandstand £1,195.86
Bore holes & Drainage £4,457.50
Beneath Doble Stand works £27,951.86
Bastin Stand Emergency Route £845.00
IT office upgrade £441.50
Other projects - as club identify £8,251.05
Despite this exercise, there still remains £54,937
of monies in the Red or Dead? campaign funds that are “unallocated”.
Following discussions amongst the Board of Society members, it was agreed
to invest this unallocated money on capital projects identified by the Football
Club that will directly benefit the business development of Exeter City FC.
If you have yet to identify where you would like your Red or Dead?
pledge money to be spent please contact the Trust via post (Red or Dead?,
PO Box 231, Exeter, Devon) or email trust@ecfc.co.uk
for more details.
Following this in depth review of the Red or Dead? campaign the Supporters’
Trust is now working on a project to commemorate all paid pledgers to the
Red or Dead? campaign. Part of this project will involve the re-issuing of
certificates to paid pledgers. It is also hoped that a commemorative plaque
will be produced and displayed prominently at St James Park in the near future.
