National Volunteers Week: Volunteering Opportunities at ECFC

Volunteering opportunities at ECFC

If you have been inspired by our Grecian Volunteer stories over the last few days for National Volunteers Week 2017, there are several opportunities available to get involved. Everyone is welcome and we are sure we can find a role to match your skills.

You can get in touch via reception@ecfc.co.uk or read below for specific opportunities this summer and on match days for the 2017/18 season.

Work Parties at SJP this Summer

To prepare St James Park for the 2017/18 football season the club is hosting a weekend of ‘scrape, paint, wash and scrub’ within the stadium on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 July 2017.  Supporters are invited to come along and join stadium manager Mark Latham to help spruce up the stadium in readiness for next season.

Exeter City Supporters Trust is looking for more fans to volunteer to help Trustees with the day to day running of the Trust.  The Trust Board is committed to growing membership and services to members but needs help in a number of areas.

Support would be particularly welcome in these work areas:

  • Design and Marketing: helping design and promote publicity materials
  • General admin: helping with a range of tasks from note taking at meetings to supporting officers
  • Helping run Trust stall on match days and at other events: talking to members and potential members and selling Trust merchandise
  • One Game One Community co-ordinator:  focus on equality and diversity

If you can help, please contact the Trust at: trust@ecfc.co.uk

Match days 2017/18

Match day ambassadors

Our existing team of Ambassadors provide vital excellent customer service to all supporters and visitors to SJP on match days, but we want to do so much more inside and outside of the stadium.

The Team are on hand to assist with any general queries that may arise such as directing supporters to the correct destination, entrance points and stadium facilities to ensure that SJP is a welcoming, friendly environment to all. The team provide a visible and friendly touch point for fans on their match day journey which will allow them to confidently highlight feedback and make recommendations for change.

Candidates will ideally display a friendly and confident personality, will have good spoken communication skills along with keen attention to detail, and will make themselves visible and approachable on a match day.

Information point

To support the Match Day Ambassadors, the Club are also looking to build a small but courteous team to manage and operate the Information Post for the 90 minutes leading up to kick-off.

If you are interested in either the ambassador or information point roles, please contact Richard Knight (Supporter Liaison Officer) at the Club: richard.knight@ecfc.co.uk

Post-match clean-up

And don’t forget something that only takes 10-15 minutes and is always a great help to the club is to remain behind after a game and help clear the stands of rubbish.  Everyone who stays to do this really makes a difference and it frees up our ground staff to concentrate on maintaining the pitch.  Please consider this
