We’re delighted to announce that Graham Deasy (pictured above) has been appointed as our new Secretary. Graham took up the role at the Trust Board meeting on 9 January 2017.

Graham brings a wealth of experience to the Trust including six years as Chief Executive and Company Secretary for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. He has also worked for the NHS, The Children’s Air Ambulance, the Fire Fighters Charity and Relate.

Since retiring from full time work Graham has been volunteering with the development of Exeter City’s Football in the Community Walking Football initiative. He also assists with the delivery of the ‘City Fit’ programme and is a member of the Senior Reds.

Graham has taken over the role of Secretary from Nick Hawker who stood down at the Trust AGM. Trust Board member John Kanefsky has been acting Secretary in the meantime.

Commenting on the appointment Trust Chair Martin Weiler said “We are so pleased to have attracted such a high calibre candidate in Graham. He will bring a lot to the Trust and we look forward to working with him to help drive the Trust forward.

“I also want to put on record our immense thanks to Nick Hawker for his years of service as our Secretary. He played a massive role in developing the effectiveness of the Trust and typical of the man he still continues to freely offer his advice and guidance. Thanks too to John Kanefsky for stepping in while the recruitment process was underway”.

Graham Deasy said “It is a real honour to be your new Secretary. I was very much attracted to the role because of the kind of community organisation the Trust is. It is a very special body and I look forward to helping it grow”.
